Old Covington House
At the church that I go to they used to host a yearly calendar with the images of old houses, buildings or places in the small town the church was found in. Some of these buildings and places are still here today, yet some cannot be recognized nowadays that leaves a nostalgic bittersweet taste in my mouth even when I know I was too young to have even be born when these buildings stood. This house used to be down a street we sometimes ride down, it burned down some time ago, I don’t remember seeing it like in those pictures, but it feels right to see it like how it used to be. Done in graphite pencils.
Messenger
This is a work I did in the summer arts school during 2024. It was focused more on showing perspective, and those paintings in the background were originally made to be the main piece of the work, but I got bored. So, I went to my director and told her I had an idea for an angel-like figure, she made me sketch it, and the rest was history. Done in color pencils.
Depot
Another picture from that church calendar collection. I didn’t hear much of this place because they took it all out, but there were many older folks from the church that spoke of it fondly.
Country Home
One of my most favored patrons asked for this piece. Took me awhile, but they were pleased with the result. This is of a residential family home, cozy as any dream, or at least I hope so. Done in acrylic paint.
Old Store
This is another old picture piece from the calendar of images from my church. That multistory building on the corner is still standing and has been used for many things over the years, from residential to business, however I believe that the shorter was left to rot.
